About Library

School is a gateway to knowledge and plays an important role in building up a love for reading. The school library is integral to this educational process. Encouraged at the right age, the children are sure to develop a love for books. “Catch ’em Young” is, therefore, the motto of the school libraries.

According to IFLA/UNESCO School Library Manifesto, “the school library provides information and ideas that are fundamental to functioning successfully in today’s

information and knowledge-based society.

The school library equips students with life-long learning skills and develops the imagination enabling them to live as responsible citizens”. It plays this role by selecting, acquiring and providing access to appropriate sources of information. The school library offers books and other resources ranging from print to electronic media for completion of various school projects and assignments, for the acquisition of knowledge about a topic taught in class, for finding information about a hobby or current events and news, etc.

School Library has a dynamic collection of Books from every aspect of life. These includes NCERT Textbooks, Subject Reference Books, Olympiads,Encyclopedias,Dictionaries,Yearbooks,Biographies,Life Skills,Education,Fictions,Literature,Skits,Poems,General Knowledge,Entrance Exams,Competitive Exams and many more...

SEATING ARRANGEMENTS: Library has seating capacity of 80 users at a time equipped with fully furnished State-of-the-art Furniture.   

READING ROOM: Equipped with variety of Reading Materials (Books, Encyclopedias,Periodicals, Dailies) with proper seating arrangements and Air Conditions. School Library Reading Room is the Central Comfort and Green Zone of the Vidyalaya. Peaceful Environment enhance Concentration and Reading habit as well.

SEMINARS/WORKSHOPS/IN-SERVICE COURSES
Various Workshops, Seminars,Training Programs, In-service Courses are being organised in Library

OPENING HOURS: Summer Timings- 7.20 AM to 1.00 PM
                                    Winter Timings:- 7.50 AM to 1.30 PM

Library Periods: According to the Library Policy the students of Class VI-XII will visit the library for the issue and return of the books during their library periods. They can refer books and participate in library activities during this time.

Classroom Library: Students of Primary Wing use their Classroom Library during Library Periods inside their classroom. Children Literatures as per age Group issued by Vidyalaya Central Library to Class Teachers of Primary Wing in the Starting of each Session for the purpose.

  • 02 book for a period of 01 week
• Faculty and staff
  • Maximum 05 books for a period of 01 Month. The users should submit their ID cards for the automated circulation of books.

LIBRARY AUTOMATION The stock and services of the library are automated powered by e-Granthalaya software provided from National Informatics Centre, Department of
Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology,
Government of India.. OPACs for users available and  Books are being circulated using e-Granthalaya.

ARRANGEMENT OF BOOKS IN LIBRARY: Books are arranged in Library Subject wise in different Shelves using Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme(DDC)

LOCATION OF LIBRARY IN SCHOOL: Library is located at central place of the School for easy access to Students and Staff of the Vidyalaya.
